Languages have fascinated me since I was a kid. They felt like portals to other worlds. Growing up, I was fortunate to learn German, English, and French.

When my English-speaking spouse started taking German lessons, very little time in the classroom was spent on pronunciation. She was fluent—but it wasn‘t German.

I made it my mission to teach her proper German pronunciation, using the sounds of English. Most of the required sounds are available somewhere in the English speaker‘s repertoire. This approach did the trick for her. German speakers no longer switched to English, and with every conversation, her confidence grew.

This inspired me so much that I developed a comprehensive method around this approach. The result is this book—a practical guide to achieve flawless German pronunciation.
